What fun to be on a “TV” show with a fat positive panel and one “doctor” (an urban planning PhD) who wasn’t feeling our profat stance. We totally outnumbered him and kept asserting facts whenever he got on the “obesegenic blah blah” train.
Us fat ladies just wouldn’t let him mansplain speak and tell us why our fat was killing us because we don’t walk enough. Or something.

haha poor guy, I loved you inspiring ladies!! It reminds me of once when I was inteviewed on tv and a doctor predicted from my size that I was probably going to die soon, then I succeeded in replying that both my great grand parents were my size and they lived very long before the programme ended and he could not answer back… lol

I thought the talk was very interesting but I would have liked to hear the other perspective. I think in order to really sway the fat-phobic crowd you have to understand why his arguments are incorrect or unsupported scientifically.
The irony is EVERYONE is on the same page at the end of the day: that our society needs to make a healthy lifestyle affordable and accessible to everyone. HAES folks are all for healthy diet and exercise. So why is it so threatening to make this discussion one that focuses on actual health instead of weight?
This was an amazing discussion! Love to see strong and powerful women hold down. That doctor was so wrong on many notes “people choose to live” (in places that are associated with fatness?) Baffled….
I enjoyed the host of the program and loved how all you ladies represented.
