For some reason my comment didn’t post.

a few things/thoughts

1) I think it’s quite likely that several contestants have undiagnosed eating disorders prior to starting the show. COE and BED are two of the most frequently undiagnosed eating disorders… it sounds (based on the yo-yo dieting) that Kai possibly had at the very least disordered eating prior to the show which would leave her more susceptible to an eating disorder — the show SHOULD screen for these things

2) They did show Erik kissing a photo of himself at a larger weight… I wonder if Caroline’s outburst regarding those images around their house is part of what lead to her departure?

3) The Biggest Loser is a WELL KNOWN trigger amongst the eating disordered.. and I wonder if that’s because it makes the disordered behaviors seem more normalized… and not as extreme as they do in the everyday context…

4) I wonder if the show and how it’s done has altered since her coming forth…

I know this is older… but I think there’s a reason the Biggest Loser is addictive for those with eating disorders… because of the extreme practices that make your own (their) behaviors seem normal… I also actually think a lot of people that are on the show have UNdiagnosed eating disorders — ones that aren’t as well known (and are more undiagnosed) such as Binge Eating Disorder and Compulsive Overeating Disorder… and from the yo-yo dieting comments part of me wonders if Kai had the beginnings of an eating disorder… at the very least just disordered eating

I also wonder if that is part of what got Caroline Rhea fired (allegedly)… her opposition to certain things.

I was inspired by Jillian but now I think she is a heartless bitch just after the fame and glory. That’s what rules this world. GREED. Will not listen to her anymore.
Overpriced mechandise and on her last radio show she said “Canadians suck”, she kinda tried to retract but too late big mouth.
I truly thought biggest loser was a good thing in the beginning. Did not know that the contestants were treated like cattle. Psychological trauma of any sort at any age can cause an eating disorder. Yeah I don’t watch much tv anymore, get inspired, find out the real truth and then it’s back to uninspired. I think I will stay uninspired.
