I am so glad to find someone else who shares my perspective on More To Love. I was excited beyond words to hear about a dating show for the plus-sized, and then when I watched it, it just depressed me. Instead of giving me hope-there are real guys out there who like plus-sized women-it made me feel even more insecure because some of the "sob stories" so to speak that the contestants had were worse than what I've been through, and every single one of them was thinner and more beautiful than me. (I try to stay away from that line of thought, but I have to admit that it crossed my mind.)

Yes, the show did bring big girl love into primetime, for which I am thankful, but like in every fight for equality, the first steps fit into the "separate but equal" category, and real equality only comes without the separate part. A better show idea (not that shows where a gaggle of women compete for one man's attention or vice versa are all that encouraging anyway) would be to include women of all shapes, colors, sizes, whatever, and present them all as equal possibilities.
