Spacedcowgirl -- That's brilliant research! You listened to your body and learned to exercise in a way that actually felt good. Congratulate yourself for listening to your intuitive sense of what is good for you! Just keep checking in with yourself, you're doing great.

Now are you going to try another self care ritual, just for fun???

Now are you going to try another self care ritual, just for fun???

It's been hard to feel like I'm "doing enough" since I started running much slower with an eye toward keeping my heart rate low. I never thought I bought into "no pain, no gain," but certainly the training methods I was using resulted in aches and pains, bruised and damaged toenails, and other discomforts. Now I feel great after my runs, my toes have healed, and I even convinced myself when I was sick recently that the healthier thing to do would be to NOT go running for a few days. I think I'm healthier for it, but it's hard to maintain that belief in a society that pushes the ideal you describe--you're not doing enough unless you're utterly worn out.
